2. SOMETHING FOR YOUR HEART

For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. [Romans 6:9-11]

It's easy for this all to seem confusing. Don't let people tell you they have it all figured out because the process is a journey that doesn't end. There is a difference between getting a life from God and getting a life of God. God has already given you a life. What you do with it and how you use it is entirely up to you. (Choice is another gift, but that's another talk...) Having the life of God begins when the Holy Spirit comes in to stay. The challenge is to make room for him. Our job is to look at our lives and say, "What am I willing to let go of?" "What is keeping me from a closer relationship with God?" Perhaps it is anger or bitterness toward someone in our past. Perhaps it is anger at ourselves. We hang on to so many things we don't need, but as this journey continues we must make room for the spirit of God in order to have that life of God.

[OZ (Oswald Chambers) says:]
The weakest saint can experience the power of the Deity of the Son of God if once he is willing to "let go." Any strand of our own energy will blur the life of Jesus. We have to keep letting go, and slowly and surely the great full life of God will invade us in every part, and men will take knowledge of us that we have been with Jesus.

Just between you and God: Prayer is just that... between you and God... so what you say to him and what you give to him stays between the two of you. Dig something out of your soul that you have been carrying around for too long. Give it to him. He will fill the space it leaves with his love. For real.

5. FORGETTABLE FACT

In 1953, it took 27 hours to create one Marshmallow Peep. Today, it takes six minutes.

6. POTENT QUOTABLES

"As Christ drew near to death, He Himself trembled. It was an experience of all His creation, but He had never felt it. To His humanity, His assumed flesh, it seemed terrible - Gethsemane bears witness how terrible it seemed; but He passed into it for love of us."
- Phillips Brooks

"Easter says you can put truth in a grave, but it won't stay there."
- Clarence W. Hall

"Now let the heavens be joyful,
Let earth her song begin:
Let the round world keep triumph,
And all that is therein;
Invisible and visible,
Their notes let all things blend,
For Christ the Lord is risen
Our joy that hath no end."
- John of Damascus

7. PARTING SHOT

It is far more impressive when others discover your good qualities without your help.

Comments:
It only takes me six seconds to eat a peep.

Also, weird that one of my sister's old dorm rooms could be used as a room for RIOT--wish I were there!

It only takes 1 second to throw a peep away! :-)

Wish you were at the RIOT too Chris! Maybe one day we will see you back??

I bet I could eat one in 5 seconds.

I like this weeks newsletter. I actually read it! YAY! I typically forget it's Monday until it's, like, Friday. At which time it is no longer Monday. It is now Friday. This week, however, I realized Monday had passed on Wendsday. I think it is because I typically choose to forget it's Monday because I don't really like Mondays. This week, however, I'm trying to forget it's Wend. and just skip to Thursday or perferably Friday. I didn't drink enough coffee today for Wend to be a Monday. Though Wend. is not a Monday. It is a Wend. Just a very bad Wend. Well, not that bad. Just annoying. Oh hey. It's lunch time.

Glad you liked this week's newsletter Angie! Enjoy your lunch!

Oh...and I think you drank plenty of coffee!
