Despite the intensity of a spiritual battle or how strong or weak you feel at any given moment, I have given you everything you need to live a godly life and to stand your ground against any attack from your Enemy, Satan.

With every piece of spiritual armor you put on, you clothe yourself with me. I am your helmet of salvation, your breastplate of righteousness, your belt of truth, your shoes of the good news of peace, your sword of the Spirit.

But wearing your spiritual armor still isn't enough. If you run into battle fully equipped but aren't in communication with your command center, you will lose. You need my guidance, my wisdom, my encouragement, and my strength. That's why it's important that you pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Praying at all times means staying in constant communication with me: When you wake up, in between classes, during a test at school, while you're hanging out with your friends, when you go to bed. Prayer is more of an attitude than an activity. Satan loves to ambush my unsuspecting followers. Without prayer he will catch you off guard every time.

As you pray, avoid doing all the talking. I know you have a lot on your heart, but make room for the Holy Spirit to guide you in prayer. Spend time in silence so I can respond to you. But also remember that you're in the middle of a war, not just a fi ght. Other people face the same attacks as you. They need you to pray for them as much as you need them to pray for you.

But there's one more reason why we need to stay connected: I just like to spend time with you!

MS Mission Portland

Our MS mission trip to inner city Portland was a wonderful time! Lives were impacted, both those we ministered to, and ours! We served at Nightstrike, the homless ministry beneath the Burnside Bridge, as well as BTown Kids, a ministry to low income children and families. Thank you to those that prayed!

BTown Kids Comes to Tigard

Join us tomorrow night as we minister to our neighbors on Gaarde St. Bridgetown Ministries will be bringing their BTown Kids truck and putting on a great program for the kid's in the apartments accross the street from us, including a free BBQ!

We need you to be there to assist the Bridgetown staff in their program as well as loving on the children that come. Please plan to be at the apartments accross from the church at 5:45. We should be done by 8:00.

This will take the place of our regular Wednesday night high school gathering, but is not limited only to high school students. All in the church are welcome to join us!

MS Guys Grub Camp
Hey guys, this Friday is the day you have been waiting for! We head up the Clackamas River at 1:00! Be sure to bring with you everything need for a weekend of camping, along with junk food to share with everyone else. Also be sure to bring with you a good pair of river shoes, shoes you can get wet in the river.

HS Rafting Trip
What a great day we had on the river last Tuesday! The weather was great and the river was fun, not to mention cold! We had three rafts on the river and loved every minute! 2. SOMETHING FOR YOUR HEART

God is waiting for us when we come together in his name. Scripture tells us we really need the body of Christ. He wants us to experience what it means to be a part of his family. It's when we're together that we receive:

- Equipping from God's Word
- Encouragement from God's people
- Enjoyment of God's presence

When we're together, we get something we can't get when we're alone. We experience the "bigness" of God through fellowship, group celebration, corporate prayer, and seeing needs met. When God's family gathers, it's not to prove to the world Jesus is alive. Seekers and even skeptical unbelievers are always welcome, accepted, and loved, and we should be sensitive to their needs. But reaching others is not the number one reason we have "church."

The number one reason Christians gather as church is to experience God!

The question is not, "Does the world believe in God?" The real question is, "Do Christians really believe he's alive?" Do we believe that where two or more are gathered in his name, he's actually among us? Of course, God is everywhere, but he's not made known or experienced everywhere. His presence should be experienced when Christians come together.

HS Raft Trip
Tomorrow we hit the river! If you are registered to go here is what you need to remember.

• We will leave the church at 7:00 am and return at 6:00 pm.
• Please bring with you, a sack lunch, clothing to change into after the day of rafting, suncreen, rafting sandals or shoes you can get wet.
• Girls please wear a one piece swimsuit.

MS Mission Portland
Thursday is the day of our first ever Middle School misison trip! If you are a part of the team here are some important details to remember.

• We will leave the church at 6:00 PM and return on Saturday at 6:00 PM
• Please bring with you:
-Bible, pen and notebook
-Sleeping bag/pillow
-Good closed toe shoes
-Toiletries
-Work clothes (will get dirty). Please no tank tops for guys or girls. Bring pants as shorts are not allowed on the outreaches.

For those of you not going, please pray that God would use our team to effectively show His love to all we come into contact with!

2. SOMETHING FOR YOUR HEART


Part of our burden in life is that we are trapped in time. I can't make that clock move to the end of a bad Monday, no matter how hard I try. And I can't stop the minutes from flying by when I'm loving my day off . Whether times are good or bad, we have to keep plugging away. That's part of life under the sun. But we know deep inside there's another way.

Solomon tells us God has "set eternity in the hearts of men" (Ecclesiastes 3:11). He's hardwired us with a longing to step beyond the walls of time and be free. He's built into us a desire to be with him in the timelessness of heaven. It's something we feel deep inside, but it's not something we can fully understand on our own. It begins to make sense only when we see this longing in the light of the story of Jesus.

One of the most fascinating men I've ever met is a missionary and writer named Don Richardson. He came to talk at our church when I was a kid, and then he stayed at our house. He told us exciting stories from his travels around the world, many of which are collected in his book "Eternity in their Hearts: Startling Evidence of Belief in the One True God in Hundreds of Cultures Throughout the World."

In the book Richardson describes real-life encounters between missionaries and members of tribes who had never heard of traditional Christianity. The missionaries were amazed to discover that members of every tribe already had some belief in the one true God-before they encountered anyone from the outside world. Just as Solomon described, God had placed some deep knowledge of himself in their hearts. What they needed was outside help to make sense of their belief. They needed someone to tell them the story of Jesus.

3. SOMETHING FOR YOUR HEART

Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

"Everybody Hurts." That's the title of an old R.E.M. song. If the band had been looking to do a theme album, they might have included tracks with titles such as "Everybody Fails," "Everybody Doubts," "Everybody Fears," and "Everybody Gives Up."

You'll notice the common word in all of those titles is everybody.

One of the worst things about struggling with your emotions is the loneliness it creates. You convince yourself that you are completely alone in your struggles. That no one else experiences the things you experience. That other people are too strong, too spiritually mature, or too together to ever be dragged down by the kind of emotions that plague you. But that's not true.

Every believer faces times when life seems overwhelming--even pointless. Times when you can't get excited about the thought of facing another day. Times when you wonder where you'll get the strength to carry on. That's why every believer clings equally hard to the promise of Lamentations 3:22-23.

One of God's greatest gifts to us is his daily gift of grace. Notice how his blessings are described: "new every morning." That means no matter how much of his grace and blessings you needed yesterday, there's a fresh, unlimited supply ready for you today. So it's safe to say your troubles will never outnumber his blessings. And because of God's unbelievable love for you, you never have to worry about your struggles overwhelming you. If you will ask him, he will give you the strength, motivation, and encouragement you need to make it through the day ahead--no matter what the day may bring.

Remember, this isn't about your strength--it's about God's. And his strength is constantly available to you. So what is there to worry about?
